Established in 1990, Desktop Display is an experienced team of designers, programmers and consultants, with some key strengths and principles.
Design skills
Our interfaces combine visual impact with strong content and are acclaimed for their accessibility, clear typography, navigational consistency and browser compatibility.
Extensive experience
We have a portfolio of dynamic websites that are driven by databases including the QueenSpark Books archive and the Window Gallery. Another Desktop Display database underpins a system commissioned by the BBC Learning and Interactive Television team.
Comments and stories
We have a history of facilitating contributory projects ranging from an interactive in which comments from St. John Ambulance members are integral to its digital history, to the Favourite Things community website, a collection of memories and stories about people's favourite objects from Canterbury City Council's Museums and Galleries.
Open source software
As a preference, we use open source, XML and Ajax technology for a responsive user experience, administering secure application servers using LAMP technology.
We were awarded Red Hat Certified Technician status in September 2005.
