As far back as the award-winning 'My Brighton' project in 1994, Desktop Display has created interactive multimedia that engages and informs the public.
We have worked on many projects large and small, responding to many design challenges. Along the way, we have acquired a reputation for realising content in a rich and stimulating way. We place our emphasis on the end user, making certain that their needs are met.
You get a hands-on approach from experienced professionals:
DOING THE 'GROUND WORK'
For the duration of a project, we appoint a project manager who works with you to create your interactive. We start by discussing, clarifying and agreeing your requirements and place great emphasis on this 'ground work'.
Where appropriate, we also undertake audience consultation and usability testing. For example, before deciding on a user interface for a touchscreen interactive interpreting the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, we built and tested countless prototypes.
QUALITY CONTROL
We set frequent deliverables throughout a project, to facilitate comment, feedback and adjustment, as well as to gauge overall progress. This may include continuing consultation with your target audience. Final delivery takes place when the product has passed all agreed performance criteria.
INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE
When required, we will advise, specify and source hardware for your interactive projects and liaise with you to install and initially operate the system. Training, post-installation support and maintenance can also be provided if required. We also offer a range of services to facilitate and populate your interactive including: archiving and digitisation; consultancy; Flash animations; illustration and graphics; scriptwriting; voice over recording and editing; video production.
